Bad Kleinkirchheim is located in Carinthia, southern Austria and is an old spa town. BKK ,as it is called by the locals, is next to the very well known Nock National Park and gained fame for the excellent skiing because it is the home of the legendary Franz Klammer downhill racer. Every January it is the host of the FIS Ski Worldcup Championships. BKK is a wellness and nature town, with a bounty of flora and fauna as well as wellness spas. During the summer months it becomes a fantastic holiday destination with Exercise Arenas, Alpine sports and the spectacular Nock National Park. Summer views from the gondolas are magnificent.

Bad Kleinkirchheim (BKK) is the home of downhill legend Franz Klammer. He says he still enjoys these slopes and that it should be no suprise if he goes wizzing past. Franz helped design the World Cup slope that is now named after him.

The skiing in this region is for everyone, with a multitude of slopes for beginners and intermediates and with some of the worlds hardest professional runs. Fun for every member of the family and for all ranges of skill.

The area also has a number of spas, health centres and wellness activities. Swimming pools, and thermal baths being a great way to take a day away from the pistes or to go away for a relaxing weekend. Aqua gymnastics, saunas, steam baths and massage are all availiable to get you away from the stress of day to day life. The Roman bath is not just a site to see it is something well worth experiencing.

There are children indoor and outdoor actiivity areas including weather slides as well as children ski schools and a kindergarten. All sorts of thing to keep the whole family entertained, whether together or if the kids just want to get away and spend time with other children.

BKK is the perfect place for a holiday home, especially if you like to be out in the fresh air. The Carithian mountains don't just offer skiing. A very common activity in this region is snowshoeing. Walking the snow covered mountains, taking in the exquisite views.

Cross country skiing is also possible here. With over 54 km of cross country track in the region it offers a wide variety. From the circuit in Römer track valley to the 5km Nockalm mountain track which is at an altitude of 1870 metres above sea level you find yourself spoiled for choice.

The tobogganing as well as the snowboarding possibilities are as impressive as the skiing one. People come of all skill levels to this region to improve there skill.

Of course Bad Kleinkirchheim offers one of the best Aprés ski. In the later skiing season, you will see people in the cafés, with a schnapps, sun bathing. This is the perfect hliday destination for the active family, and also for the family that just needs a break!
